COVID-19 Treatments for Individuals

Current COVID-19 treatments are highly effective at preventing severe disease in people at high risk. If you are currently COVID-19 positive you may qualify for IV monoclonal antibodies or oral antiviral pills. CIMPAR is able to offer preventative injections for those who are immunocompromised or allergic to vaccine options.

PAXLOVID

Paxlovid is the currently recommended antiviral pill for symptomatic covid infection. To be eligible for Paxlovid you must be at least 12 years of age and weigh at least 88 pounds. Paxlovid cannot be taken with some medications and some conditions, and must be started within 5 days. Our provider will be able to determine if you qualify for this treatment.

MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES

Monoclonal antibodies help your immune system recognize and respond more effectively to the virus, making it more difficult for the virus to reproduce and cause harm. Bebtelovimab is the current formulation of monoclonal antibodies that is effective for the variants in your community. Most people are eligible for this treatment. It is administered as a one-time infusion within 7 days of symptoms.

EVUSHELD

Evusheld consists of two monoclonal antibodies provided together to help prevent infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. A nurse gives Evusheld as two injections, one after the other. If you are moderately or severely immunocompromised or severely allergic to COVID-19 vaccines, you may be eligible for Evusheld. Our provider will be able to determine if you qualify for this prevention.
